Daughter Denies Channel 14 Mistakenly Interviewed Wrong Woman in 'Petzar' Scandal

Channel 14 sparked controversy after mistakenly filming and attempting to interview a woman they believed to be the former 'Petzar' (public prosecutor's office employee) involved in a scandal. The woman in the footage was not the 'Petzar' but the mother of the person who appeared in the video. The daughter clarified on social media that her mother lives nearby and thought the interviewers wanted to speak about the 'Petzar,' but she refused to participate and is not involved. She emphasized that the two women do not resemble each other.

Following widespread criticism from journalists and social media users, Channel 14 issued a statement acknowledging the error. They explained that the woman filmed was seen near the building where Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi, the actual former 'Petzar,' resides, and was accompanied by a man resembling her husband. The woman answered to the name Yifat and did not deny any connection to the case when questioned. However, due to doubts raised, the channel removed the report from all platforms and promised a thorough review.

Senior journalist also criticized Channel 14, calling the mistake a "betrayal from within." The incident highlights the risks of rushed reporting and the importance of verifying identities before broadcasting sensitive material.
