Likud and Yashar! Tie at 23 Seats Each as Gadi Eizenkot Leads Prime Minister Preference Poll
A new poll by Kan News reveals a political deadlock between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party and Gadi Eizenkot's Yashar! party, each securing 23 Knesset seats. Likud dropped one seat compared to the previous poll, while Yashar! remained steady. The faction Beyachad, led by Naftali Bennett, gained one seat to reach 14, reversing a prior trend of losses.
Among the ultra-Orthodox parties, United Torah Judaism holds steady at eight seats, whereas Shas, headed by Aryeh Deri, declined significantly to seven seats. Otzma Yehudit, led by Itamar Ben-Gvir, increased by two seats to ten, while Religious Zionism, under Bezalel Smotrich, fell from five to four seats.
Other parties include Yisrael Beiteinu and the Democrats, led by Avigdor Lieberman and Yair Golan respectively, each with ten seats. In the Arab sector, Hadash-Ta'al received six seats and Ra'am, led by Mansour Abbas, five. Parties failing to cross the electoral threshold include Beit Tzioni (headed by Hili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel), Achdut (led by Gilad Erdan), Blue and White (Benny Gantz), and Balad.
Regarding the preferred candidate for prime minister, Gadi Eizenkot leads with 41% support, up from 36%, while Netanyahu's backing dropped from 41% to 36%. The gap between Netanyahu and Bennett narrowed from 10% to just 2%, with Netanyahu at 37% and Bennett at 35%.
