Eight Arab and Muslim States Condemn Israel for Rejecting Trump’s Gaza War Peace Plan

Eight Arab and Muslim countries issued a joint statement on Sunday criticizing Israel for rejecting U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip. The countries warned that Israel’s refusal could undermine the intensive efforts led by the Trump administration to achieve a ceasefire and end the conflict. The statement was signed by Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, all expressing full support for Trump’s plan and their readiness to contribute to its implementation.

The countries emphasized that the goal is to promote a sustainable ceasefire and bring an end to the Gaza war. They placed responsibility on Israel for obstructing peace efforts in Gaza and the Palestinian territories, cautioning that Israel’s rejection threatens the recent U.S.-led initiatives. The statement reaffirmed their backing of the American peace process and their willingness to participate in necessary efforts to realize it.

This declaration expands the pressure on Israel, which has faced growing international criticism amid ongoing Israeli strikes in Gaza. Earlier in August, three countries condemned Israel’s continuous violations and urged the international community to pressure Israel to comply with ceasefire commitments. On August 3, Nikolay Mladenov, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding a halt to attacks to allow a 14-day ceasefire and implementation of the agreement with Hamas.

Israel expressed skepticism about the ceasefire’s feasibility, insisting that any withdrawal would only occur after neutralizing the threat and disarming Hamas. Following pressure from the UN and Arab states, the Israeli Southern Command tightened its rules of engagement, significantly reducing strikes except in cases of immediate threats or exceptional incidents approved individually.

The current statement marks a broader coalition of eight countries now united behind the U.S. framework, directly criticizing Israel, compared to the earlier involvement of only three mediators. This development highlights escalating regional and international efforts to resolve the Gaza conflict through diplomatic means.
