MK Moshe Saada Recalls Difficult Period as Deputy Head of Police Investigations

MK Moshe Saada recently spoke on the C14 program "On the Way to the Ballot Box with Dana and Ron" about a challenging time in his career when he served as deputy head of the Police Investigations Department. He described feeling professionally isolated and humiliated after pushing to investigate the death of Ahuvia Sandak, a case he believed was mishandled and unjustly treated as terrorism-related. Saada said he reached out to senior legal officials, including former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and former State Attorney Momi Lemberger, to influence the case's handling. However, instead of support, he was removed from the case and barred from receiving updates from his own investigators, who were told he was "not a confidant." Saada described the experience as humiliating, noting that even his longtime legal contacts were unable to get information from him, which strained professional relationships. He emphasized the personal toll of being sidelined in his own case and the sense of injustice he endured during that period.
