Hasidic Leader Rabbi Elimelech Biederman Leads Slichot Prayers in Ashkelon

On Saturday night, marking the start of the Slichot prayers among the Mizrahi Jewish community, a historic event took place in Ashkelon organized by the city's Religious Council. The Hasidic spiritual mentor Rabbi Elimelech Biederman arrived to inaugurate the Slichot days and participated alongside hundreds of local residents at the Zohar HaRakia synagogue in the Neve Yam neighborhood. For over an hour, attendees were captivated by Rabbi Biederman's powerful words, emphasizing the significance of the month of Elul as a gift and urging the community to embrace the approaching days of mercy and forgiveness.

Following his main address, Rabbi Biederman remained unusually to join the congregation in reciting the Slichot prayers. The prayers were led by the Slichot cantor Rabbi Shlomo Didi, who chanted in the Mizrahi tradition.
