Israeli Journalist Ayala Hasson Condemns Military Prosecutor's Plea Deal in Yemen Field Scandal

Israeli journalist Ayala Hasson sharply criticized the possibility of a plea bargain for Major General Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi, the military attorney general, amid the ongoing Yemen Field affair. Speaking on Galei Yisrael radio during the "Petchi and Zamri B'am" program, Hasson described the reports as a dangerous test balloon and expressed deep concern over what she called an unprecedented damage to the state's trust. She highlighted that Tomer Yerushalmi admitted to lying to the Supreme Court and leaking the fabricated affair to Channel 12.

Hasson’s comments were echoed by media personality Yotam Zamri, who labeled the case as an act of betrayal, accusing the military official of spreading a blood libel during wartime. Hasson emphasized the profound public and systemic breach of trust, criticizing the investigative authorities for their negligent handling, including police officers who showed contempt for the lead investigator Boaz Balat.

Hasson further revealed that the actions were deliberate, not accidental, asserting that those involved knew exactly what they were doing.
