Former Israeli Military Prosecutor Faces Backlash Over Potential Plea Deal in Shaked Teiman Case

Efraim Damari, attorney representing some soldiers from Unit 100 involved in the Shaked Teiman affair, strongly condemned reports that the former military prosecutor is nearing a plea deal. Speaking on Sunday, Damari insisted that she must stand trial, emphasizing the gravity of the accusations against her. He stated that in other countries, such as the United States, she would face charges related to harming national security.

Damari criticized the release of a video connected to the Shaked Teiman case to the media, arguing that it caused significant damage to Israel's security and to the Israel Defense Forces soldiers. He claimed the former prosecutor's decision to release the footage harmed both the state's security and the soldiers involved.

Further, Damari cited a Foreign Ministry study indicating that the video intensified global anti-Semitism by a hundredfold. He rejected the notion of resolving the case through a plea bargain, demanding a full trial to clarify the matter. "What plea deal are they talking about? This woman needs to face trial. Are you completely crazy?!" he exclaimed.

Representing some of the soldiers implicated in the case, Damari described the potential plea deal as unacceptable, highlighting that the damage caused by the video's release went beyond the military proceedings and affected Israel's national security, the IDF soldiers, and the global perception of Jews.
