Big Glilot Launches Israel’s Largest Indoor Padel Complex Amid Mall Entertainment Rivalry

The competition between Seven Stars Mall and Big Glilot Mall in Israel intensifies, focusing now on family entertainment attractions as fashion retail slows down. Big Glilot is set to open next week a new indoor, air-conditioned padel complex, investing three million shekels in what will be Israel’s largest facility of its kind. The 2,000-square-meter venue, located in the mall’s minus-three parking level, will feature five padel courts, each accommodating two doubles teams, alongside a pickleball court and a foosball table to encourage socializing alongside sports.

The complex will be operated by the Ben Zini brothers and Gilad Adin, a former TV host, who emphasized the importance of a central, accessible, and dynamic location that attracts diverse audiences. Their choice of Big Glilot was driven by its strategic location and entertainment-oriented atmosphere.

This move comes shortly after Seven Stars Mall invested 50 million shekels last month to open Gravity, an attraction park in its former cinema space. Gravity includes ceiling-hung go-kart tracks, a gymboree, arcade machines, and augmented reality rooms, and has already seen significant success.

The rivalry between the two malls has escalated, with Big Glilot recently placing billboards at Seven Stars Mall’s entrance, directing visitors to Big Glilot and highlighting the short travel time between the two centers. Both malls are clearly vying to become the premier family entertainment destination in the area, shifting focus from traditional fashion retail to experiential attractions that draw entire families who also shop during their visits.
