Pro-Israel Tent Vandalized Again at Norwegian Democracy Festival

During the Arendalsuka festival in Arendal, Norway, the pro-Israel Christian organization "Med Israel for Fred" (MIFF) had its tent vandalized and broken into overnight between Thursday and Friday. The attackers entered the tent and destroyed its contents, according to MIFF, while local police confirmed they have security footage and have removed suspects from the area. This marks the second attack on the tent within a year. In August 2025, the leader of Norway's Palestine Committee, Lene Hatib, spray-painted graffiti on the same tent, altering its message to "For Genocide," which led to a criminal case resulting in a fine of 6,000 Norwegian kroner and compensation of 3,261 kroner to MIFF.

Following the recent incident, MIFF condemned the perpetrators as cowards unwilling to engage in democratic debate. Eitan Helon, Israel's embassy official in Oslo, sharply criticized the Norwegian authorities' failure to prevent the attacks, posting on social media that after the tent was damaged earlier in the week and then torn apart overnight, Norwegian politicians called the acts unacceptable in a democracy but questioned what actions the government will take when words fail.
