Moran Kors Shares Her Spiritual Journey Born from a Yom Kippur War Tank Promise

Moran Kors recounts a profound promise made inside a tank during the Yom Kippur War that she believes led to her birth. Her father, trapped by Egyptian forces, vowed to God that if they survived, he would bring another soul into the world. Miraculously, their tank escaped just before a shell hit the spot. Ten years later, Kors was born, feeling deeply connected to that promise.

Despite this origin, Kors did not grow up religious and only began exploring Judaism seriously at 19. A turning point came when she met a young terror attack survivor who, despite losing family members, expressed gratitude to God for the time spent with them. This encounter sparked Kors’s ongoing spiritual journey, which she describes as a process lasting over two decades.

Kors also shares her struggles with postpartum depression, a condition little discussed at the time. She describes it as a "transparent illness" that left her emotionally numb despite outward normalcy. This difficult period became the catalyst for her public mission, as she discovered a talent for teaching Torah and speaking publicly.

As a mother of seven, Kors faced challenges including a son’s long personal search and departure from structured life. She learned to embrace patience and faith, ultimately seeing her son enlist in the IDF and support fellow soldiers spiritually. Kors emphasizes the importance of letting go during uncertain times, sharing how a canceled project led her to develop a new method called "Meditative Observation," which now helps thousands of women.

Her message highlights faith as an active force in the world, encouraging spreading goodness and supporting others, especially when outcomes are unclear.
