The Lima Grand Prix in judo reaches its final day with heavyweight competitions, where Israel's Raz Hershko will attempt to defend her gold medal from last year. Ranked number one globally in the over 78 kg category, Hershko will start directly in the quarterfinals, facing the winner between a Brazilian and a Canadian competitor. A potential rematch looms against Brazil's Beatriz Souza, who defeated Hershko for the gold at the Paris Olympics. Later this month, a showcase match is also planned in Brazil.

Omer Mann (up to 66 kg) lost in the first round to an American judoka, while Yam Volchek (up to 66 kg) was ousted in the second round by a Moldovan competitor. Gaia Bar-Or (up to 70 kg) was defeated in the first round by Germany's Paul, who went on to win the gold medal.
