French Food Vendor Faces Investigation for Refusing Service to Jewish Customers

A 22-second viral video from the La Des-Alps resort in France has sparked public outrage after a food stall owner was seen complaining about the presence of Jewish vacationers and reportedly refusing to sell them products. In the footage, the woman says, "You are too many," and when asked who "we" refers to, she explicitly replies, "The Jewish community, you are too many." When pressed further, she added, "At some point, it’s too much for people." The customer who recorded the interaction reminded her that French law punishes discrimination and antisemitic remarks. The video was forwarded to the French Interior Minister, Justice Minister, and the representative council of Jewish institutions in France. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez strongly condemned the remarks and announced that police have launched an investigation in cooperation with the public prosecutor’s office, requiring the business owner to account for her actions. According to Le Dauphiné Libéré, although no formal complaint has yet been filed, police investigators are expected to examine the incident and question the woman involved.
