Islam Makhachev, the reigning UFC lightweight champion from Dagestan, is set to defend his title for the first time since winning it eight months ago. The fight will take place at UFC 330, scheduled for early Sunday morning, August 18, 2026. Makhachev aims not only to secure his seventh consecutive title fight victory but also to make UFC history by achieving 17 straight wins, the longest winning streak in the organization's history.

His opponent, Ian Machado Garry from Ireland, holds an impressive 17-1 record and is considered one of the few fighters capable of defeating Makhachev.
