A major water main burst overnight between Thursday and Friday near the Isrotel Beresheet luxury hotel in Mitzpe Ramon, leaving hotel guests and several nearby homes without water. Guests reported being unable to shower, brush their teeth, or make coffee since midnight despite the hotel being fully booked. One guest highlighted the urgency as the Sabbath approached, complicating repair efforts, with engineering teams expected to arrive only after several hours. Water tanks were eventually brought to the hotel to provide limited relief. Marina, a guest who arrived with a toddler, described the difficulty of not being able to wash her child and noted that the hotel remained crowded despite the outage. The CEO of the Maayanot HaDarom water corporation stated that crews have been working since the night of the incident to fix the deep water line and are implementing a bypass to restore water supply as quickly as possible, expecting resolution within hours.
