Israeli Surfer Anat Lelior Finishes Second at WSL Tahiti Event
Israeli surfer Anat Lelior achieved a remarkable feat by finishing second in the prestigious World Surf League (WSL) event held in Tahiti. Lelior reached the final round, narrowly missing out on a historic victory. She led most of the closely contested final but was overtaken near the end by 19-year-old Canadian Erin Brooks, who scored two powerful waves to win with 17.20 points against Lelior's 16.33.
Lelior's path to the final was impressive. On Wednesday, she made headlines by defeating the world number one, Gabriela Bryan. In the quarterfinals, she beat local surfer Kalia Galina with a score of 9.50 to 6.53. In the semifinals, she dominated Portuguese surfer Yolanda Hopkins with a commanding 12.50 to 3.43 performance, securing her place in the final match for the title.
