Israeli Surfer Lilior Advances to WSL Quarterfinals in Tahiti
Israeli surfer Anat Lilior continues to impress on the global surfing stage by reaching the quarterfinals of the prestigious World Surf League (WSL) event held in Tahiti. This marks the second time in her career that Lilior has advanced to this stage of a WSL Championship Tour competition.
Competing in her first season on the WSL Championship Tour after making history by qualifying for the elite circuit, Lilior began the tournament with a victory over Australian surfer Sally Fitzgibbons, scoring 4.16 points to Fitzgibbons' 1.67. In the second round, she faced the world number one, Gabriela Bryan, and delivered a standout performance, winning decisively with 12.73 points against Bryan's 1.46.
With these wins, Lilior has solidified her status among the top surfers globally and secured a spot in the final eight of the Tahiti competition. She now aims to continue her strong run and reach the semifinals of this high-profile event.
