Suspicion: 16-year-old from the Krayot ordered a taxi in an app, then was raped by the driver
Albert Ismailov, a 33-year-old taxi driver from Kiryat Yam, was arrested yesterday, Tuesday, on suspicion of brutally raping a 16-year-old girl, after the complainant said she had ordered a ride late at night through the Gett app and, during the trip toward her home, the driver stopped the car in an industrial zone in Kiryat Haim in Haifa and sexually assaulted her violently. Ismailov, who is married and the father of two, denied the allegations during questioning. He admitted that some sexual contact took place between them, but said that, in his words, "the entire act was done with consent." His detention was extended by three days, until Friday.
About a week and a half ago, police announced that they were investigating Moshe Saada, a 65-year-old Safed resident, on suspicion of committing sex offenses against minors. Saada, who is employed as a teacher, was arrested on May 19 after police received several complaints from victims who allegedly were harmed by him.
Last month, a senior gymnastics coach, a 51-year-old Kiryat Ono resident, was arrested on suspicion of committing sex offenses. The complainant is a 22-year-old floor gymnast, and according to her, the offenses were carried out over several years, beginning when she was still a minor. The suspect was questioned on suspicion of rape, indecent acts, extortion by threats, and incitement of a minor. According to the suspicion, over the course of about a decade the coach committed indecent acts against the gymnast, including at competitions abroad. According to her account, he also committed sex offenses against her sister, who is now 20.
