Haifa Woman Charged with Elderly Fraud Including Holocaust Survivor Scam

Liora Lior Nativ Strasberg, a 54-year-old resident of Haifa, has been indicted for multiple fraud and theft offenses allegedly committed against elderly victims, including a Holocaust survivor in her 90s. The indictment, filed by the Haifa prosecution office, accuses Strasberg of stealing a credit card during a joint trip with the survivor and subsequently using it for unauthorized purchases totaling thousands of shekels.

Investigations revealed that Strasberg also visited other elderly individuals under the pretense of conducting medical examinations, during which she reportedly stole property and made further fraudulent credit card transactions. The police appealed to the public for additional victims, resulting in more complaints against her.

It was also uncovered that Strasberg was under electronic monitoring at the time of the offenses, which she violated. Following the completion of the investigation and evidence gathering, prosecutors requested her detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
