Former brigadier general warns of 'terrible' Iran deal as Trump signals agreement soon
Retired Brig. Gen. Prof. Yaakov Nagel said in an interview Sunday on Radio 103fm that the emerging agreement between Iran and the United States is “terrible.” He argued that “there is nothing good in it for anyone,” saying it only describes what was discussed behind closed doors. “The Iranians say they have committed to nothing, and they are right. The Americans say the Iranians have committed, and they are not right,” he said.
Nagel also commented on Israel’s strike in Beirut’s Dahieh district, saying Israel should neither act arrogantly nor behave like a submissive pawn. “Israel does what is best for its security, provided it does not stick a finger in the eyes of our great friend in the United States,” he said.
His remarks came after President Donald Trump said on Friday that an Iran-US deal is expected to be signed in the coming days. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by pledging that as long as he remains prime minister, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.
