Israel Braces for Possible Incoming Fire Within Hours
Tensions in Israel rose on Tuesday evening after the Israeli strike in Beirut’s Dahieh district and the threats that followed from Iran. The IDF said it is preparing for the possibility of fire toward Israeli territory within the next few hours.
According to the military, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir is holding continuous situation assessments with all relevant commanders in order to prepare for multiple possible scenarios in both defense and offense. The IDF said, "Based on the situation assessments, the IDF is preparing for the possibility of fire toward the territory of the State of Israel in the coming hours." It added, "The IDF continues to maintain readiness and alertness for a range of scenarios in defense and offense."
The army stressed that, for now, there is no change to Home Front Command instructions. At the same time, it urged the public to remain vigilant, act responsibly, and follow official guidance. If there is any change, the public will be updated immediately. The statement ended with a warning: "The IDF will not tolerate fire toward the territory of the State of Israel."
