Israeli Premier League Postpones Opening Matches Due to European Playoff Successes

The Israeli Premier League announced the postponement of several opening round matches following the recent European competition successes of local clubs. Hapoel Tel Aviv advanced to the Conference League playoffs after defeating Poland's Katowice in the third qualifying round. Consequently, their opening league match against Beitar Jerusalem has been delayed. Similarly, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, which secured a spot in the Champions League playoffs by overcoming Red Star Belgrade, will also have its first league match postponed against Hapoel Haifa.

The league management stated that the fixtures for the second round will be published after Beitar Jerusalem completes its UEFA third qualifying round matches and depending on their progression. The third round schedule will be released after Hapoel Be'er Sheva finishes its Champions League playoff matches, and if necessary, following the group stage draw and UEFA's matchday scheduling. Further rounds will be announced several days after the UEFA group stage draws and matchday allocations to allow for necessary adjustments.

This scheduling flexibility aims to accommodate Israeli teams' participation in European competitions while maintaining the integrity of the domestic league calendar.
