Israeli NGO Raises Millions Without Transparency to Mobilize Overseas Voters

An Israeli NGO named "Bo'u" has been operating for nearly two years to assist Israelis living abroad in voting during elections. Initially established to influence the student union elections, the organization has since shifted focus to national elections, encouraging overseas Israelis to vote against right-wing figures such as Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich.

The NGO is closely linked to the Democratic Party and the Halutz movement, which manages pre-military preparatory institutions and is politically connected to Democratic figures like Naama Lazimi and Yaya Pink. Founders and key members include Democratic Party activists such as Ido Attias, a Beersheba city council member, Shiran Meir, and Tomer Meiri, who also leads the "HaYisraelim" NGO associated with Yaya Pink and known for raising millions for political activities.

Reports reveal that nearly two million shekels have been transferred to "Bo'u" over the years without clear disclosure of the funding sources or how the money is spent. Attempts by Channel 14 to obtain explanations from the NGO's leadership, including Shiran Meir, Yaya Pink, Tomer Meiri, Ido Attias, and the legal advisor Ram Perdes, were met with silence or refusal to comment.

The NGO's Instagram pages feature calls from Yaya Pink urging Israelis abroad to vote to prevent the continuation of Netanyahu's government. Critics from the student union have highlighted the opaque financial practices of both "Bo'u" and "HaYisraelim," raising concerns about the lack of transparency in political funding and influence.

This development comes ahead of the 2026 elections, with the NGO actively campaigning to mobilize voters overseas, marking a significant political effort by the Democratic Party and its affiliates to impact Israeli electoral outcomes.
