Israeli Supreme Court Rejects Petitions Against State Prosecutor Leading Military Advocate Investigation

The Israeli Supreme Court ruled that there is no judicial basis to intervene in the legal opinion of the Ministry of Justice's legal advisor, which states that the State Attorney is no longer disqualified from overseeing the investigation into the case involving the Military Advocate General. The court also determined there is no reason to grant the Minister of Justice additional time to appoint a different supervisor for the investigation. However, Justice David Mintz dissented, arguing that a conditional order should be issued requiring the Minister of Justice to explain why he has not appointed an independent overseer for the probe.
