AstraZeneca Israel Appoints Maria Miller as New CEO After Leadership Shift
AstraZeneca Israel has appointed Maria Miller as its new CEO following the departure of Ohad Goldberg, who served eight years in the role before moving to lead AstraZeneca in South Korea. Miller brings nearly 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Israel and Europe. Previously, she was head of drug accessibility at AbbVie Europe and held senior management roles at Pfizer, Takeda, and Sanofi. She is recognized for her deep understanding of Israel's healthcare system and broad international commercial leadership experience. Currently residing in the Netherlands, Miller is expected to relocate to Israel with her family in the coming weeks.

AstraZeneca is a global pharmaceutical company focused on oncology, cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic diseases, respiratory and immunology. Operating in over 100 countries, the Israeli branch has been active since 2008, based in Kfar Saba, employing around 200 people and collaborating extensively with hospitals, academic institutions, and research entities.
Recently, there has been talk of a potential major merger between AstraZeneca and Bristol-Myers Squibb, which could create a company valued at $400 billion. This development adds context to AstraZeneca Israel’s leadership transition amid a dynamic global pharmaceutical landscape.
