Binyamin Council Upgrades Main Roads and Pedestrian Crossing in Haredi Settlement Tal Tzion After 25 Years

Israel Gantz, head of the Binyamin Regional Council and chairman of the Yesha Council, participated on Sunday in the inauguration of two infrastructure upgrade projects in the Haredi settlement of Tal Tzion. The projects, completed this week with a total investment of approximately 1.8 million shekels, included the renovation of the main roads and the enhancement of a central pedestrian crossing.

The first project involved resurfacing and repaving the main roads in Tal Tzion, which had not undergone comprehensive maintenance for about 25 years. This work, costing around one million shekels, aims to improve transportation infrastructure, travel safety, and the quality of life for thousands of residents. Concurrently, the council completed the upgrade of a pedestrian crossing between two main streets, investing about 800,000 shekels to ensure safer and more convenient passage.

These projects are part of a broader development effort responding to Tal Tzion’s growth and the needs of its Haredi population. The upgrades were carried out in cooperation with the council’s Public Works Department, led by Naaman Mimar, with key contributions from department heads Yair Weiss and Akiva Yitzhak, as well as local officials including Shmuel Davidi and settlement manager Harel Amar.

Gantz emphasized Tal Tzion’s ongoing expansion and the council’s commitment to further infrastructure improvements, calling the settlement a model for Haredi growth in Judea and Samaria. Harel Amar expressed gratitude to the council leadership and staff for their dedicated efforts, highlighting the projects as a significant milestone for the community after many years of waiting. Both leaders pledged continued collaboration to advance Tal Tzion’s development and enhance residents’ quality of life.
