Education Ministry adds second exam date for physics and biology matriculation tests
The Education Ministry has added a second date for the matriculation exams in biology and physics after requests from students. In addition to the exams scheduled for Thursday, a further sitting will now be held on June 29.
The exams were originally due to take place last week, but were postponed to this week because of the 17-hour war with Iran. On Sunday morning, David Gal, head of the matriculation exams division, wrote to school principals and explained that many students would struggle to sit the exams on the current date because of preplanned educational activities and programs.
In recent days, biology and physics students appealed to the ministry, asking for a solution to the pressure and crowding created by the war-related delay. They proposed several alternatives, including changing the exam date or relying only on the school-based component of the grade.
