Israeli screenwriter Meni Assayag announced on Monday that he has canceled his scheduled performance in Ariel due to disappointing early ticket sales that barely covered costs. In a message to his fans, Assayag expressed honesty about the cancellation, stating, "I could tell stories and make excuses, but we are people of truth." He reassured supporters that he remains optimistic about his upcoming show in Tirat Carmel on August 19, God willing.

Assayag thanked those who purchased tickets and shared promotional posts, especially right-wing Facebook groups that consistently support his events. He also extended special thanks to Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Yoav Hatzl, and Osnat Zohar, acknowledging their efforts to support both him and Nathan Solomon. Apologizing to friends who had been invited, he described the cancellation as a divine test and noted that the freed-up time would allow him to study Torah from his new holy books. He concluded with the phrase, "The people of Israel live."

This cancellation follows a trend of event disruptions in the Israeli entertainment scene, with singer Omer Adam recently responding to a canceled show by Shiri Levy, highlighting ongoing challenges faced by performers.
