Curza Marbana Launches Long Form Holiday Halacha Course for Rabbinic Exam Candidates
The College for Halacha, part of Curza Marbana, is promoting a new course on the laws of the Jewish holidays, taught by Rabbi Ben Tzion Elgazi, head of the Curza Marbana institute and head of Yeshivat Ramat Gan. The program is offered both in person and online, and is designed to give students practical halakhic knowledge while preparing them for Israel’s Chief Rabbinate exams.
The course includes a weekly class in a religious setting in Givat Shmuel and runs for 18 months, with the promise that participants will finish each holiday prepared in depth. Those who cannot attend physically can join through Zoom and an interactive online system that lets them view all course materials on their own schedule.
The organization says only a few places remain. Students who complete the course successfully receive a prestigious certificate from Curza Marbana. Rabbi Elgazi said that in an era of rapid change, people need “a varied toolkit” to deal with modern challenges.
Curza Marbana says it has been leading a broader shift in recent years by making halacha accessible to the public, not only to yeshiva graduates but also to “ordinary Jews.” The group says it launched many digital courses during the war to keep learning available, and its current students include doctors, engineers, accountants, lawyers, teachers, and others. CEO Attorney Lior Frishman said he was pleased to see new students joining from across Israel and urged more people to enroll.
