US Air Force Tanker Planes Conduct Weekend Training at Ben Gurion Airport to Avoid Congestion

The US Air Force has concentrated its aerial refueling training exercises at Ben Gurion Airport during weekends to take advantage of reduced civilian air traffic. These exercises, primarily held from Friday afternoon to late Saturday night, allow dozens of tanker planes to operate without causing parking congestion or disrupting commercial flight schedules. The unusual increase in military aircraft activity initially raised concerns among local residents, but the Israeli Defense Forces clarified that these are routine readiness drills.

The Israeli Air Force emphasized the importance of maintaining high operational readiness, especially in preparation for potential future conflicts, such as with Iran.
