Niv Gilboa, a food critic and host of "Gilboa Index" on i24NEWS, recently criticized model Maya Kay's new fashion brand, claiming similar products could be purchased cheaper on Chinese websites. In response during an interview at the Twentifourseven launch, Maya Kay expressed gratitude, saying the criticism revealed the support from her fans. She stated that although Gilboa intended to undermine her brand, he inadvertently boosted its visibility. Kay also highlighted that Gilboa's price comparison ignored shipping costs, lack of warranty, and branding, which are integral to building a business. She sarcastically suggested he should also order suits from AliExpress if he believes the comparison is fair.
