Ben Gurion Airport to Get a 5-Star Hotel With Rooftop Pool and Spa
Israel’s National Planning and Building Licensing Authority has approved the permit application for a new hotel at Ben Gurion Airport. The project will be built by the Brown hotel chain, owned by Israel Canada, and is planned as an eight-story, 270-room property covering 31,532 square meters.
The hotel is designed as a five-star hospitality complex and will include a conference center, a dedicated check-in area for guests, a luxury spa, restaurants, shared workspaces, and a green roof with a pool overlooking takeoffs and landings. It will be located next to Terminal 3, above the HBS baggage screening building on the terminal’s eastern side, in what the airport authority describes as a strategic site.
The project is being advanced by the Israel Airports Authority as part of the airport’s overall development plan. Construction is expected to begin after the structure is built during 2028. The work will proceed under the rules of the national master plan for Ben Gurion Airport, known as TAMA 2/4/A, and the approved building plan TEV/40102, which was approved at the end of 2024.
Starting work also depends on coordination with all infrastructure agencies and on presenting agreements for handling waste and excess soil, in line with environmental requirements. Architect firm Mann-Shinar Architects is responsible for the design. Liran Ben Ami, a partner at the firm and head of the project team, said the complex development has been underway for three years with Brown, Israel Canada, and the Yehuda Levi Construction Group, in close coordination with the Israel Airports Authority, to create “a unique experiential hotel as a main gateway to the country” next to Terminal 3. He said the unusual layout was intended to bring natural light deep into the atrium and direct interior spaces toward views of the aircraft.
