Jewish Agency Hosts Summer Resilience Programs for Thousands of Terror-Affected Israeli Children

Approximately 2,000 children and teenagers affected by terror and war across Israel are participating in special summer programs organized by the Jewish Agency's Fund for Victims of Terror. The kickoff event took place at Superland amusement park, drawing around 1,300 children, teens, and their families from northern, southern, and central Israel. These programs aim to provide a respite, build resilience, and support rehabilitation for young victims, many of whom have lost family members, suffered physical or psychological injuries, or been displaced since the October 7 attacks.

The Jewish Agency's Fund for Victims of Terror, active since 2002, offers comprehensive rehabilitation including emergency grants, group therapy, summer camps, and resilience activities. Since the outbreak of the recent war on October 7, the fund has dramatically expanded its aid, assisting over 35,000 victims and more than 23,000 families with tens of millions of dollars in support. The summer initiatives are made possible through generous donations from Jewish communities worldwide, especially North American Jewish Federations and the Yesod Fund.

Jewish Agency Chairman Doron Almog emphasized the importance of these activities, stating they provide children and families with moments of normalcy and joy amid crisis. Ayelet Nahmias-Verbin, chair of the Fund for Victims of Terror, expressed emotional fulfillment seeing children smiling and playing despite ongoing security challenges. The resilience and recreational programs will continue throughout August, reinforcing cross-border solidarity and strengthening Israel’s future generation.
