Gadi Eisenkot Says Experienced Candidates Surpass Yair Golan for Defense Minister Role

Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, visited Nir Oz in the Gaza envelope on Wednesday afternoon. When asked whether Yair Golan would serve as defense minister if Eisenkot became prime minister, he responded that there are more experienced candidates for the position. Addressing the situation in the West Bank, Eisenkot stated that following the events of October 7, it is not the time to discuss permanent solutions or future plans. Instead, the focus should be on combating terrorism in the West Bank and ensuring the residents' security and sense of safety. He emphasized the need to prevent the escalation of violent groups that harm settlements and receive support from the authorities.
