Be'erot Yitzhak Kibbutz Seeks New Rabbi After 26 Years of Service by Yaron Ben David

After serving as the rabbi of Be'erot Yitzhak kibbutz for 26 years, Rabbi Yaron Ben David announced he will not seek another term. The kibbutz has already issued a public call for candidates to fill the position. Rabbi Ben David, 56, studied at the Ma'ale Adumim Hesder Yeshiva and served abroad before arriving at Be'erot Yitzhak at age 30. His departure marks the end of a quarter-century of spiritual leadership as he embarks on a new chapter in his life.

Be'erot Yitzhak operates as a cooperative kibbutz, where the rabbi's role is reviewed every three years. This time, Rabbi Ben David chose not to run again, concluding his tenure. In a statement to Channel 7, he described his previous role as a mission and expressed readiness for a new path.

The kibbutz recently published a detailed call for applications titled "Call for Candidates - Rabbi for Be'erot Yitzhak Kibbutz." The announcement specifies that the ideal candidate must be certified by the Chief Rabbinate, possess a religious-national vision, demonstrate empathy and closeness to the community, maintain influence among the younger generation, support members through life cycles, and have an actively involved spouse in community life.
