Israel Establishes 18 Global Control Rooms to Honor Fallen Soldier Noam Abramovich

Nearly three years after the deaths of 16 female observers and two combat soldiers at Nahal Oz during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, Israel is setting up 18 control rooms worldwide to continue their mission. The first center, named "Noam" in Munich, Germany, commemorates Corporal Noam Abramovich, one of the fallen observers, and aims to protect Jewish communities globally.

Noam Abramovich completed her observer training on October 4, 2023, and was stationed at Nahal Oz near Gaza. On the morning of October 7, during the Hamas incursion, she called her family to say goodbye and express her love before being fatally shot. Her mother described her as highly responsible and professional, deeply committed to her role and aware of the risks involved.

The Munich control room serves not only as a memorial but as a living embodiment of Noam's values, intended to inspire future generations of security personnel. Family members noted the difference in memorial culture between Israel and Germany, emphasizing how the latter integrates remembrance into daily life. The control room teams understand the grave responsibility they bear to prevent future tragedies by maintaining vigilance and dedication.
