IDF Colonel Natanel Lasri Dies at 40 After Cancer Battle

Lt. Col. Natanel “Nati” Lasri, the head of planning in the IDF Ground Forces and a former commander of the Golani and Hermon formation, has died at age 40 after a long battle with cancer.

According to the Iron Tracks association of the IDF’s 401st Brigade, Lasri spent most of his career as a fighter and commander in the brigade. His service included command of a company in Battalion 52 and later command of Battalion 9.

He subsequently served as operations officer of the 162nd Division, commander of the Golan and Hermon Brigade, and most recently as head of the planning division in the Ground Forces. The brigade said its soldiers and his friends were deeply mourning his death and sending condolences to his family.
