Israel Welcomes 240 Bnei Menashe Immigrants in Historic Operation Wings of Dawn

Operation Wings of Dawn has commenced, marking a historic effort to bring the entire Bnei Menashe community to Israel. Approximately 240 immigrants from this community arrived at Ben Gurion Airport in a joint operation by the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency. The immigrants, including 34 families and 80 children, flew from Paris to Israel, accompanied by Doron Almog, Chair of the Jewish Agency, who described the emotional journey and the significance of starting anew in Israel.

The flight included 11 newborns and elderly passengers, all embarking on a fresh start despite Israel’s ongoing security challenges and internal tensions. Almog emphasized the courage it takes to leave behind familiar languages, jobs, and family to build a future in Israel. He highlighted the deep connection and unconditional love that motivates these immigrants to make Israel their home.

Upon landing, the plane was filled with tears of joy and a renewed spirit of hope and belonging. Almog noted that immigration remains a vital engine for Israel’s growth, bringing new strength to society and reinforcing the nation’s foundational Zionist ideals. He stressed that these waves of immigration enrich the Negev and Galilee regions and deepen Israeli society, underscoring that Zionism is a living, ongoing choice shaping Israel’s future.

The arrival of the Bnei Menashe immigrants symbolizes the enduring power of Israel’s national dream and the collective strength of its people. Almog called this moment a powerful answer to those questioning Israel’s true strength, describing the immigrants’ faith and love for the country as the nation’s most profound sound of hope.
