B’Tselem Files Complaint Against Lawyer Who Called Minister Ben Gvir ‘Dog’ in Supreme Court Clash

The human rights organization B’Tselem has filed a formal complaint with the Israeli Bar Association against attorney Shua’a Masarwa Mansour following a heated verbal confrontation during a Supreme Court hearing on petitions against UNRWA laws. The organization demands disciplinary action and permanent disbarment of Mansour.

The incident occurred during the hearing when Mansour, representing the petitioners and a former mayor of Tayibe, reportedly called National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir a "dog" three times. In response, Ben Gvir and Knesset member Tali Gottlieb told Mansour to leave and questioned his legal credentials, calling it a disgrace to the Bar Association.

B’Tselem CEO Shai Glick submitted the complaint, describing the behavior as unacceptable and damaging to the legal profession’s reputation. Glick emphasized that Mansour’s conduct, including incitement and insults while dressed in his lawyer’s robe inside the Supreme Court, must be addressed immediately. He expressed confidence that the Bar Association president, who previously acted against another lawyer accused of misconduct in the Supreme Court, will take decisive action in this case as well.
