Shin Bet Chief David Zini Warns of Drone Threat to Israeli Security
Amid rising concerns over drone warfare, Shin Bet chief David Zini regards the drone threat as a top security priority. The security establishment fears that following recent strikes on Iran's proxy networks, Tehran might shift its tactics by deploying drones launched from southern Lebanon, Gaza, or the West Bank to escalate threats against Israel.
Segal highlights Hezbollah's use of drones from southern Lebanon as the only weapon that has caused real casualties, raising concerns that similar attacks could originate from Gaza or the West Bank. He speculates on a scenario where a drone attack targets a public event attended by senior Israeli leaders, including the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and Chief of Staff, such as a military officer graduation ceremony. Zini is reportedly very worried about such possibilities, with drone threats now central to his security concerns.
The recent government meeting held at a secret location underscores the seriousness with which Israel is addressing this emerging threat.
