Rabbi Avraham Tofik Leads Celebratory Torah Completion at Samuel the Prophet's Tomb

As the yeshiva world enters the Bein Hazmanim (interim break), the historic tradition at Porat Yosef Yeshiva in Geula continues. For nearly a century, the yeshiva has maintained the custom of extending Torah study beyond the regular schedule, following the unique coin minted by its rabbis. On Monday, third-year students accompanied by their teacher, Rabbi Avraham Tofik, one of the yeshiva's leading figures, traveled to the tomb of Samuel the Prophet. There, they held a festive 'Hadran Alach' ceremony marking the completion of several Talmudic tractates with a large gathering.

Rabbi Tofik, who had not visited the site for many years, expressed deep emotion and admiration for the uplifting event and the privilege of being at the holy site. After the completion ceremonies, he delivered an encouraging speech to the students, emphasizing the importance of utilizing time beyond the yeshiva's formal study hours, including lunch breaks, weekends, and Bein Hazmanim. He highlighted that it is precisely dedicated young students like these who will become the great Torah scholars of the future. The event concluded with the distribution of special recognition gifts to the students for their outstanding diligence in Torah study.
