Additionally, he highlighted the dangers of unregulated diet pills sold via Telegram channels, often containing illegal chemicals from abroad, and the rise of counterfeit alcohol containing toxic methanol.
The doctor emphasized that natural substances like psychedelic plants and opioids such as morphine and fentanyl are highly dangerous, debunking the myth that natural equals safe. He described the opioid crisis as a growing threat, with many becoming addicted after legitimate painkillers. Berkovitz also warned against anabolic steroids and nitrous oxide abuse, which can cause severe health damage.
Berkovitz authored the book "Addicted" to educate parents, youth, and healthcare workers about these risks. He urged the public to avoid buying substances from street dealers or unverified sources, stressing that the true contents of these drugs are unknown and potentially lethal.
