Gilead Farm Lawyer Warns Citizens Will Act If Military Fails to Stop Terror Attacks

Attorney Yehuda Shimon from Gilead Farm sharply criticized the Israeli military's response following a deadly terror attack near the settlement, in which Benyahu Malt was killed. In an interview with Channel 7, Shimon warned that if the military does not take stronger action against terrorists, civilians will be forced to take the law into their own hands. He described the military's handling of the incident as a complete failure based on available footage and expressed frustration over a series of recent violent events in the area, including arson, a stabbing of Itamar Cohen, and Malt's murder.

Shimon emphasized that the ongoing violence cannot be ignored and directly addressed military and security leaders, stating, "If they do not start acting harshly against the terrorists, there will be no choice but for the citizens to take the law into their own hands. And if you want to reach anarchy, this is the way." He also recounted his emotional meeting with Malt's family, who insist on holding the funeral and burial at Gilead Farm. Malt, a reserve soldier, is expected to receive a military funeral. Shimon praised the family's strength, especially the resilience of Malt's parents and young daughters.

Highlighting the lack of security in Judea and Samaria, Shimon recalled the earlier murder of local resident Rabbi Raziel Shevah and condemned the military's inaction. When asked about the security measures he demands, he called for decisive operations within the village of Tal and criticized decision-makers, questioning how many more Jews must be killed before top military and political leaders wake up to the threat. "Jews are being murdered," he said, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
