Thousands Receive Mysterious Calls Linked to Israeli Democratic Party Bot Malfunction

On Wednesday, thousands of people received phone calls from the number 03-3130805, sparking fears of foreign espionage due to silence after answering. The calls are believed to have originated from a malfunctioning bot operated by the Israeli Democratic Party. The party confirmed the calls were part of outreach efforts to promote a rally scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. in Rabin Square, led by party chairman Yair Golan, a retired general.

The Democratic Party stated the rally will launch their election campaign and present their primary commitment to the public: repealing controversial government laws, including the "Zero Suspects" law, to replace what they describe as a corrupt government with one of truth and responsibility. Earlier this week, the party held primaries to determine its candidate list for the 26th Knesset elections. Following Golan, the top candidates include Naama Lazimi, Gilad Kariv, Efrat Rayten, Yaya Pink, Gabi Leski, Omri Ronen, Michal Rozin, Moshe Redman, and Somia Bashir.

The party also announced the second tier of candidates, featuring Nimrod Shafir, Moran Zar Katzenstein, Avi Dabush, Emily Mualti, Tomer Avital, Nava Rozilio, Ram Shefa, Ali Salalha, Retem Sivan, and Moran Michel. Golan emphasized the party will not join any coalition with the current government. This incident comes amid warnings from the head of Shin Bet to President Herzog about potential foreign interference in the elections.
