Jerusalem's 'Lemdam' Learning Programs Expand Nationwide for Summer Enrichment
Jerusalem's municipality, through its Haredi Department and in collaboration with the 'Lemdam' educational system, launched the 'Yerushalmix' summer program to provide children with a balanced mix of learning, experience, and productive activities during school holidays. The initiative addresses the common family challenge of offering children rest while maintaining a meaningful daily routine that strengthens skills and prevents boredom. The program features diverse learning tracks designed by education experts, tailored to students' ages and levels, including English enrichment for Bais Yaakov girls, reading and language support for younger students, math skills practice, reading comprehension enhancement, and focused preparation for girls entering seminary.
The program's content is engaging and progressive, incorporating quizzes, tasks, thinking games, and challenges to foster persistence and curiosity. It is adapted to the Haredi community's character, ensuring safe, high-quality educational content that can be used at home without internet access, allowing parents to supervise their children's productive engagement during the break.
Following its success in Jerusalem, the program is now expanding nationwide through a new agreement with the Community Centers Company. This expansion will enable municipalities and community centers across Israel to offer professional, accessible learning and enrichment solutions, customized to local needs and participant ages. Alongside home-based programs, the 'Yerushalmi Family' content line offers stories by leading authors, quizzes, humor, crafts, trips, and family activities.
The Jerusalem initiative saw rapid uptake, with subsidized packages priced at only 120 shekels selling out quickly. A limited number of spots remain available, with registration open until supplies last.
