Israeli Company AIR Unveils AIR One Electric eVTOL Aircraft Ahead of Serial Production

Israeli aerospace company AIR revealed its AIR One electric aircraft for the first time at the EAA AirVenture international airshow in Wisconsin, USA. The AIR One is a two-seat electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed for personal aviation, with a flight duration of one hour and a cruising speed exceeding 200 km/h. It features advanced flight control technologies, including dual safety layers, a parachute system for the airframe, and an intuitive Fly-By-Intent control system.

The aircraft incorporates significant upgrades over previous prototypes, such as a chassis engineered by automotive giant EDAG, dedicated NIDEC motors for enhanced propulsion and reliability, a new aircraft battery, and the SkyView HDX flight display system from Dynon Avionics. Ergonomic improvements in the cockpit also enhance pilot comfort and usability.

The AIR One's development is based on thousands of test flights with earlier prototypes, laying the groundwork for the next phase: completing the certification process with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and transitioning to serial production. AIR One is expected to be among the first eVTOL aircraft globally to receive FAA airworthiness certification, enabling broader adoption of personal electric aviation in the United States.
