Already during the players’ walk onto the pitch for the opening match between Mexico and South Africa, played today (Thursday), we were introduced to FIFA’s new ceremonies. First, as the host team’s players came out of the dressing rooms, the famous song "Sirius", which accompanies the entrance and player introductions of the Chicago Bulls from the NBA and is performed by The Alan Parsons Project, was played.
In addition, all squad players walked together to the center circle for the national anthems, unlike the usual practice in which the starting lineup stands side by side. The flags of both teams were displayed in the stadium, in an effort to provide a more meaningful viewing experience for everyone inside the stadium.
