Slovenia Revokes All Anti-Israel Measures, Czech Republic Says It Will Block Sanctions on Ben Gvir
The Slovenian government announced today, Thursday, that it has revoked all measures taken by the previous government against Israel, including political and economic restrictions as well as an embargo on arms exports and imports between the two countries. Slovenia’s foreign and defense ministries said the government annulled a series of decisions adopted during the tenure of Robert Golob’s government, which had been justified at the time by claims of violations of international law, humanitarian law and the human rights of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and Judea and Samaria.
Under the leadership of the new prime minister, Janez Janša, the decisions declaring Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir, persona non grata in the country were also canceled, along with the ban on importing products originating in Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories.
