Itamar Ben Gvir Labels Gadi Eizenkot an 'Extreme Leftist' Amid Political Clash
Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir sharply criticized Gadi Eizenkot, chairman of the Yisrael party, following Eizenkot's comparison of Yosef Haddad to Mansour Abbas. Ben Gvir condemned the comparison as audacious and expressed no surprise, describing Eizenkot as an "extreme leftist, arrogant, condescending," and trapped in what he called the dangerous delusions of the far left.
Ben Gvir accused Eizenkot of a series of past security failures, including reducing the size of the Israel Defense Forces to pursue a "small and smart army," advocating for the transfer of suitcases from Qatar to Hamas, and opposing military operations in Rafah and the Philadelphi Corridor, demanding "total surrender to Sinwar's conditions."
He also criticized Eizenkot's advisors, suggesting they might try to limit his media appearances due to the damage he has caused himself. Ben Gvir urged Eizenkot to ignore his advisors and continue speaking openly in interviews, stating, "Keep interviewing, full force." The confrontation reflects ongoing political tensions and differing views on security and leadership within Israel.
