US Strikes Multiple Targets in Southern Iran Amid Ongoing Clashes with Tehran

In the sixth consecutive night of escalating clashes between the US military and Iran, American forces launched attacks on dozens of targets in southern Iran, including Bandar Abbas and the Hormozgan province. Reports began near midnight of strikes on bridges used by Iran to transport weapons and ammunition for attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Satellite imagery confirmed damage to structures at the Shahid-Bahonar port in Bandar Abbas and to underground infrastructure at the Iranian Air Force's Eagle 44 base. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that US forces, including fighter jets, drones, and warships, fired precision munitions at military sites such as coastal surveillance, air defense, logistics infrastructure, and naval capabilities. The strikes reportedly killed seven people and aimed to degrade Iran's military capabilities in response to recent Iranian actions against commercial shipping.

Iran responded with missile and drone fire that triggered alarms in Bahrain and Qatar, injuring a child likely due to missile or drone debris. Satellite images showed damage to three buildings in Abu Dhabi and a Patriot missile battery at Erbil airport in Iraq. Tehran also claimed to have launched missiles at a US base in Al-Tanf, Syria, warning that no oil would pass through the Strait of Hormuz unless US attacks ceased. Earlier reports from Iran noted explosions near Ahvaz, attacks on a communications tower and a bridge connecting Bandar Abbas to Shiraz, and missile strikes on Iranshahr airport. Iranian state TV reported blasts on Qeshm Island at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.

Security sources in Jerusalem are monitoring US actions closely, as they could lead to renewed negotiations or further military escalation, including targeted killings and infrastructure strikes. Reuters reported that Tehran has instructed Yemen's Houthi rebels to prepare for possible closure of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a strategic oil route in the Red Sea, if the US attacks Iran's power infrastructure. The Houthis have reportedly completed preparations to attack ships near the strait using missiles and drones.
