Israel Detects Hezbollah's Escalating Arms Smuggling and Military Preparations on Northern Border
Despite the current calm along Israel's northern border, Israeli security officials have identified a troubling trend: Hezbollah is accelerating the smuggling of weapons into Lebanon via Iraq and Syria to rebuild its military capabilities. According to a report by Channel 12 News, the arms shipments include drones and other advanced weaponry. Concurrently, Syrian sources reported the interception of a large arms shipment destined for Hezbollah near the Iraq border, which reportedly contained 150 explosive drones, long-range missiles, and anti-tank missiles.
Israeli intelligence is also monitoring Hezbollah's renewed troop rotations and fighter refreshment in the area, seen as preparations for a possible escalation. Security officials believe that amid ongoing diplomatic talks with Lebanon, Hezbollah may soon test Israel's response. One scenario under consideration involves Hezbollah attempting to attack Israeli Defense Forces operating in Lebanon to reignite tensions along the border region.
